The LA Pierce College women's volleyball team celebrated its sophomores Wednesday night, recognizing their hard work and dedication before taking on LA Mission College.
After the match, the Brahmas took time to recognize their three sophomores — Paris Fruge, Trinity Brown, and Kandace Bowens — for their leadership, growth, and dedication throughout their time at Pierce. Their contributions go beyond the stat sheet, leaving a lasting impact on teammates and coaches alike.
The Brahmas showed plenty of fight against a strong LA Mission squad. Sophomore Caylin Norwood led the offense with 10 kills and two aces, while Valerie Lopez added six kills and steady play at the net. Setter Zahra Numa tallied 16 assists, and Annabel Galvan led the defense with seven digs.
Although the Brahmas fell in straight sets (16-25, 8-25, 22-25), the night was filled with pride and celebration for the student-athletes who have helped shape the culture of Pierce volleyball.
