The LA Pierce College Men's Soccer team made the most of their home turf. Originally scheduled to be played at Moorpark, Tuesday's match was moved to Shepard Stadium due to rain, and the Brahmas took full advantage, earning their first conference win with a 1–0 victory over the Raiders.
Freshman Angel Pozo struck in the 23rd minute off an assist from fellow freshman Alan Gonzalez, giving Pierce an early lead they never relinquished. The Brahmas' defense stood tall, anchored by goalkeepers Tony Ramirez and Saro Ozturnayan, who combined for 10 saves to secure the shutout.
Despite Moorpark's 22 shots and 12 corners, Pierce showed grit and composure throughout, improving to 1–1 in conference.
The two teams will meet again on Halloween, when the Brahmas travel to Moorpark for the return leg.
