The LA Pierce College Women's Soccer team capped off a special night with a 2–0 victory over Oxnard College at Shepard Stadium.
Before kickoff, Pierce honored ten sophomores for their dedication and leadership: Natalie Grant, Sybella Buenrostro, Karely Ortiz, Jocelyn Coronado, Adriana Villacana, Hannah Morales, Annabelle Coronado, Payton Larsen, Brianna Gutierez, and Melissa Nevarez.
After a tense, scoreless first half, the match came down to the final moments. In the 87th minute, Daniela McNamara unleashed a long-range banger from over 30 yards out, curling it into the top corner to ignite the home crowd. Just two minutes later, Stephany Ramirez sealed the win off another setup from Melissa Nevarez, who finished the night with two assists.
Goalkeeper Adriana Villacaña recorded the clean sheet as Pierce dominated possession and outshot Oxnard 17–2, keeping the Condors pinned in their half for most of the match.
With the win, the Brahmas improved to 6–3–3 overall and 3–0–2 in WSC play, remaining unbeaten in conference competition.
Pierce now turns its focus to a key road matchup this Friday at noon when they visit Santa Barbara City College.
