LA Pierce Women’s Soccer Stays Unbeaten in Conference, Celebrates with Tree Planting After 2-0 Win Over Moorpark
The LA Pierce College women's soccer team continued their strong start to conference play with a 2-0 victory over Moorpark College on Friday. The win brings their conference record to 2-0-1, keeping them unbeaten in the early stages of league competition.
Playing at home, the Brahmas dictated the pace from kickoff. That pressure paid off early, when a well-placed cross into the box led to a Moorpark defender accidentally deflecting the ball into her own net under pressure, giving the Brahmas a 1-0 lead. Even after the early breakthrough, Pierce didn't let up, consistently attacking and knocking on Moorpark's door.
In the final minutes of the match, freshman Brianna Gutierrez added the insurance goal with a calm and clinical finish. It was her second goal of the season.
Just one day after the win, the team was back together, not on the field, but in the streets of Winnetka, planting trees.
Players and coaches spent the morning digging, planting, and helping beautify the area, showing that their impact goes far beyond the scoreboard.
Now sitting near the top of the conference standings, the Brahmas are preparing for another tough matchup next week, hoping to extend their unbeaten run. With chemistry building and confidence growing each game, this Pierce team is starting to look like a real contender.
